I found these great Crayola activity posters for each state at our local pharmacy, but can't seem to find them available for purchase. What I did find though is that you can print them off as coloring pages at this site.

This is a really fun book I found that has all kinds of tidbits about the people places and history of each state.

Recently at a friend's house we were introduced to this really fun game! The object is to be the first to plan a completely connected 10 day trip around the US. It is not as easy as one would think! Definitely a great way to build an awareness of where each state is. They also have versions available for learning each continent.

A cute Youtube to help learn the states and capitals. There are tons of different ones that teach the samething, but this was my kid's favorite by far!

We really love this Illustrated Atlas! Filled with all kinds of great information.

I always like to incorporate living books in to whatever we are studying and so I did a little searching online and found two sites that had recommended children's literature for each and every state. You can find the book lists here (for younger children), here (for older children), and here (a mix of both with some repeats). ***NOTE*** I have not yet read these books and so I cannot guarantee that they are titles you can freely read to your children - I highly recommend previewing them!
Happy Studying!
